25 Nov The Milwaukee Esports Alliance (MKEsports Alliance) Launches
Esports. It’s a world that’s growing and most everyone knows it, only the local funding has yet to keep pace with the headlines and when asked who actually does what in any given community, 99% will have difficulty answering.
So what do you do with an industry that’s exploding locally, nationally and globally with new and engaged audiences, but the infrastructure to support it is still in its infant stages? You work together, you learn, you try things, you fail at things, but at all costs you keep communication open and step by step make progress forward. This is the goal of the MKEsports Alliance.
Serving in the role of connector and advocate, the goals are simple:
- Grow the culture and connectivity of regional Esport groups, gamers, businesses and community partners.
- Advance Metro Milwaukee’s standing as a national leader in the space, poised for future infrastructure and development.
Simple, not easy, as they say. Between the Scholastic, Collegiate and Professional teams, notable amateur teams and individual gamers and plethora of new and unique venues, the Milwaukee Esports landscape is changing and quickly. To assist keep track, the group has made available fillable forms on the website, for all the groups above to submit information to be included in a first of it’s kind, Milwaukee centric, Esports directory. In which, key contacts and social channels will be available. In addition the group hopes to in the near future be an aggregator of all Milwaukee Esport news, as well as look to possibly bring groups together for tournaments, conferences or other types of collaborative events.
