  • The MKEsports Alliance, in partnership with New Horizons of WI and The Access Alliance for Education have partnered to create the first of its kind in WI combined Esports and IT workforce development program!  The program combines elements of the CompTIAA+ certification program with the opportunity to earn badges for Intro to Hardware and Intro to Software in Esports. The program has full scholarship opportunities, with the first cohort set to launch in January of 2022.  More information on the program at the page below, if or someone you know has interest please reach out at any time! 

 

  • Recently, two MKEAlliance Board members, Jim O’Hagan of The Academy of Esports and Dr. Krista-Lee Malone sat down and had a conversation that you don’t want to miss! Check it out on the YouTube page below:

 

  • Lakeland College esports coach, Ahman Green is helping partner on an event near in Council Bluffs, Nebraska – just across the river from his hometown of Omaha. The event, the Mid-America Gamers Expo,  will be putting on Valorant and Rocket League tournaments which Wisconsin Highschools and Colleges are encouraged to participate in!   • MKEsports Alliance partner, the NECC, is beginning it’s “Season One” with more than 400 teams competing! There are currently 5 active universities from the state of WI participating, with a 6th on the way when their facility officially goes live. Read more about their growth below:

 

  • Regional Partner, Version 1 in Minneapolis recently launched an all-women’s VALORANT squad! We’re proud of their effort to increase inclusivity in the esports ecosystem and are excited to see this initiative grow! Read about VersionX and how this came about below:

 

  • The first season for the Mario Kart 64 league, taking place at Wizard Works in downtown Milwaukee, is wrapping up their first 8-week season and sign-ups are now open for Season 2! In addition, there is also a Techmo Super Bowl league taking place at the Explorium Brewpub (in the Third Ward) whos 8 week league season is set to kickoff Monday, October 11th.
