Meet the Community – Chris Reisner

  • Who are you? (First and Last Name)
    • Chris Reisner

  • What Organization do you Represent? (As it relates to why you’d be getting highlighted in an Esports Newsletter)
    • I represent Mazer Gaming as a competitive Pokémon GO PvP player and content creator. I’m currently ranked #7 in the world, and #3 in the United States. I also work as an Esports commentator for a company called Estars Studios, where I primarily commentate on competitive NBA 2K.

  • Why do you personally believe esports is important, both to our region and in general?
    • I believe Esports is important as a platform to showcase the skills and talent of some individuals that wouldn’t otherwise get that opportunity. Some of my best memories growing up in Brookfield were hanging out with friends and having Madden/Fifa/2K tournaments. To bring that to life in a formal competitive setting is awesome. I’d love to see the Esports community continue to expand here in Milwaukee.

  • What games did you grow up playing and what are you playing the most now?
    • Growing up I played primarily sports games and would go through phases. For several months I’d be addicted to FIFA, then switch over to NBA 2K for a couple of months, and then Madden for a few months, and the cycle would repeat. I always loved the ‘Ultimate Team’ mode and also the ‘Franchise’ mode. It was cool acting as if you were the general manager and building as strong a team as possible.

  • If you could only play one game for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    • If you had asked me this question growing up, I probably would have told you NBA 2K, or FIFA. However, it’s definitely Pokémon GO for me now. This game has an extremely wide demographic for its community. It has allowed me to travel to cities and events for community meetups. There’s also an active component to the game where you need to get outside and walk to grind resources. & now the game has a competitive PVP aspect that requires skill and is my main source of motivation in the game

  • Where can people find you? (Socials/Twitch/etc)
