BlockHouse Coming to the Midwest Gaming Classic

In an effort to continue to grow their brand and presence in the expanding Esports industry, BlockHouse Esports Bar and Restaurant will be attending the 2021 Midwest Gaming Classic as a vendor and participant!

About BlockHouse

Block House operates out of Alma, MI and functions as a combination Esports Bar & Restaurant. Opening in October of 2020, the destination offers a full service drink and food menu, along with 15 Gaming PCs, 2 XBox’s a PS5 and 3 Nintendo Switches to ensure all games can compete in a way that’s most appealing to them.

In addition, they also have an Esports stage that is used by their local university team, Alma College and is used for a variety of in-house tournament and events, as well as recently, the BEL Youth Leagues competition.

 

 

At the Midwest Gaming Classic

During MGC, BlockHouse will be offering a variety of experiences that illustrate who they are as an organization, each day of the event.

Schedule of Events by day below:

  • Friday, November 5th
    • Fight night with Guilty Gear Strive and WWE 2K19, both on PC. First 5 people to start and finish a 30-man Royal Rumble in WWE 2K19 will win a Block House t-shirt. Top scorer at the end of the night in Guilty Gear Strive will win a Block House sweatshirt.

 

  • Saturday, November 6th
    • Nintendo Day! BlockHouse will be recreating the 31 year old first ever Nintendo Esports event (NWC) that featured Super Mario Bros., Rad Racer, and Tetris in a timed event, Block House wants to see who has what it takes 31 years later to take down this competition!

 

  • Sunday, November 7th
    • Virtual reality day, Block House will be bringing VR headsets and games for all to play and experience virtual reality! The day will also feature and esports panel, in partnership with the MKEsports Alliance to discuss the growth of the industry, pathways to employment and thoughts on the future as it continues to grow around the world. 

 

In addition the the slated events above, each day will also have time slots where we BlockHouse will be building keyboards, providing coaching lessons from an Esports championship college coach, and more!
